Recent Additions to the NEHMA Collection

June 1 - December 10, 2016

Recent Additions to the NEHMA Collection showcases a select group of artworks the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEHMA) has acquired for its collection in 2015 and 2016. Since the Museum’s founding in 1982, it has added between 50 and 250 artworks to its collection annually either through donation or purchase.

Today, the collection includes more than 5,000 objects that illustrate the development of modern and contemporary art in the Western U.S. from 1920 through present day. The artworks displayed in Recent Additions represent this collecting philosophy and illustrate the wide range of art media and materials in NEHMA’s collection with examples of watercolor, ceramics, collage, assemblage, and paintings in oil and acrylic.

Recent Additions was organized by NEHMA curatorial staff with assistance from curatorial intern Anndee Hall, who researched the objects on display and wrote the labels accompanying each piece.
