Work in Progress
USU Merrill-Cazier Library, Lower Level
January 16 - March 29, 2018
The Work in Progress is a collage-style mural that provides a stunning visualization of the impact of women on our society. It is a community project and the brainchild of Jann Haworth. To date, over 120 Utah men and women have created stencil portraits of more than 150 women who are catalysts for change in the arts, sciences and social evolution. Their portraits were then made into a beautiful collage by artist Liberty Blake. Shown here is a to-scale reproduction of the mural.
Approximately 30 USU faculty and students from all colleges will be contributing to this mural, proposing names of women from their disciplines who have been catalysts for change and then helping to create stencil portraits of these women.
This project is organized by the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art in partnership with Merrill-Cazier Library as part of the USU Year of the Arts.
