Enjoy traditional clothing, art, stories, and free chips and salsa. Don’t miss Nuestros Vecinos: La Presencia Hispánica en Cache Valley, a photography display by JP Spicer‑Escalante. Odyssey Book Club Meeting #1 (Books 1-8)

Cultural

With the popularity of Christopher Nolan's film adaption, Homer's Odyssey has gained new popularity and controversy. This book club will bring together faculty, staff, students, and community members to read the original work and discuss its many themes and meanings. At the end of the semester, we will then hold a screening of the film to discuss the ways in which Homer's story continues to live and be adapted for new audiences.

Come celebrate with us! Kick off the evening with a welcoming pre‑event from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring a photo display by Professor JP Spicer‑Escalante, Nuestros Vecinos, and a colorful flag display showcasing the diversity of Latin America. Then join us for the main celebration with a lively flag parade, cultural performances, and a special appearance by Ballet Folklórico de Efraín Villalobos. Keep the energy going with Zumba and end the night with a fun community dance. Everyone is welcome!

Attendees will have opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate through educational presentations, cultural demonstrations, artists, community organizations, and interactive activities. Screening of Christopher Nolan's Odyssey with Roundtable Discussion

Cultural

Celebrate the last day of classes with a free showing of Christopher Nolan's Odyssey. The screening will be followed by the opportunity to ask USU faculty about the film, its adaptation, and the controversies that have arisen since its release. This event is the culmination of the Odyssey Book Club, but participation in the book club is not required to attend the screening. Seats are limited, so registration is required.
