Work Study Eligibility

Work Study (WS) Awarding Timeline for Students, 2024-2025 

Below are key deadlines for the Work Study awarding process for the 2024-2025 academic year, which includes fall 2024, spring and summer 2025. 

• Students must complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1st, 2024 to be eligible for a FWS award for the 2024-25 year. 
• Students can request verification of FWS eligibility by submitting a request to Student Financial Support.
• Students will be awarded no later than the end of May 2024. 
• Those students who are awarded FWS funding can apply for positions.
• Federal Work-Study funds for 2024-25 will continue to be awarded until federal funds are exhausted.
• Students who have obtained FWS positions may begin working a week before classes start, on August 19, 2024. 
• Complete your FAFSA. The 2024-25 FAFSA will use the 2022 tax/financial information. 
• Starting 2024-25, the Department of Education has a new FAFSA application All FAFSA contributors, including students and their parents, must have a StudentAid.Gov account and provide consent to have their taxes information transferred. • Please complete the 2024-25 FAFSA as soon as possible.
