Utah State University – Walmart Tax Exemption Process
We have experienced ongoing challenges with Walmart accepting our tax exemption, particularly at the South location. To address this issue, we have been issued a Walmart Tax Exemption Card with the following number:
Tax Exemption Number: 63042
Business or Organization Name: Utah State University
Customer ID Number: 63042
Purpose Code: 4-Educational
Issuing Store Number: 4272
Issuing State: UT
Effective Immediately
Anyone making purchases at Walmart on behalf of Utah State University must provide this
tax exemption number to the cashier before any items are scanned.
Important Guidelines:
- Do not use self-checkout. The tax exemption cannot be applied at self-checkout
stations. - Provide the number to the cashier before scanning begins.
If the cashier has already started scanning items, they must cancel the transaction
and start over to apply the exemption. - This number is valid at all Walmart locations across the state of Utah.
