The Academic Experience Tracker (AET) from Hanagriff, Ewell and Murphy, Inc.
The Agricultural Experience Tracker (AET) is a comprehensive, student-centered agricultural education recordkeeping and program management system specifically designed for secondary agricultural education and FFA programs. The Utah FFA Association, a legislatively funded program administered through Utah State University, seeks to purchase statewide access to AET for Utah secondary agricultural education students, teachers, and FFA members.

AET provides one statewide system for documenting and managing all three components of agricultural education: classroom/laboratory instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), and FFA. Students use AET to maintain longitudinal records of their agricultural education, work-based learning, skills, financial activities, leadership experiences, and FFA participation.

AET is the only identified product that integrates the complete agricultural education model—classroom instruction, SAE/work-based learning, and FFA participation—into a single student recordkeeping and program management system.

AET allows students to maintain SAE plans and agreements; track hours, finances, skills, and work-based-learning experiences; document FFA and leadership participation; align experiences with agricultural education standards; and maintain a longitudinal digital portfolio. Teachers can monitor and assess student SAE programs, manage employer/supervisor participation, evaluate student engagement, and generate program, economic-impact, and administrative reports.

Critically, the same student records maintained for instructional and SAE purposes can be used to complete state and national FFA degree, proficiency, award, and recognition applications. This creates a continuous record from classroom instruction and work-based learning through FFA recognition without requiring students or teachers to duplicate records across multiple systems.

The Utah FFA Association requires a standardized statewide platform that supports the complete agricultural education model and allows secondary agricultural education programs throughout Utah to use a common system for student records, SAE/work-based learning, FFA participation, reporting, and recognition.

AET is required because no other identified product currently provides the complete functionality necessary to meet these statewide program requirements. Using a different product would require multiple separate systems and/or custom development and would not provide equivalent integration with the agricultural education and FFA processes used by Utah students and teachers.
