    mug shot     I am a Professor in the School of Computing at Utah State University. I research and teach in the areas of database systems and programming languages.

My interests include temporal databases and hierarchical databases. Prior to Utah State University, I was on the faculty at James Cook University, Bond University, and Washington State University, and I was a visiting assistant professor at Aalborg University, I am a graduate of New College and obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Arizona under the direction of Richard T. Snodgrass. I was happy to be awarded the 2015 SIGMOD Contributions Award.
