About This Certificate

Utah’s advanced manufacturing industries are booming! Our state is home to more than 200 advanced manufacturing companies with 12,000 employees in the aerospace, biomedical, outdoor products, renewable energy, and defense industries.

This new Professional Certification in Composites was created to meet the growing need for well-trained professionals who specialize in composite materials and structures including upgrading the knowledge and skills of those already working in the industry.

Course delivery can be customized to meet students’ needs with face-to-face classes on the USU Logan Campus, evening classes taught at the USU Brigham City Campus, and online options via Zoom available. Lab requirements can be arranged with your program coordinator.

What You Will Learn

The courses provided give fundamental understanding of composite materials, including matrix resins, fiber reinforcements, and fiber/matrix adhesion; mechanical analysis of composite materials structures; the micromechanics of composites; and composite material manufacturing and testing.
