About This Degree
The interdisciplinary PhD in Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning prepares leaders and future faculty in landscape architecture by engaging in creative intellectual work that contributes to the theory and practice of landscape architecture.
Candidates apply critical theories and methods in landscape architecture to address the dynamic issues and scales of natural and built landscapes in the context of human systems.

Admission Requirements
Application Requirements:
- Complete the online application
- Pay the $55 application fee
- Score at or above the 40th percentile on the GRE
- Have a 3.0 or higher GPA on your last 60 semester or 90 quarter credits
- Provide transcripts of all college/university credits
- Provide three contacts for letters of recommendation
International students have additional admissions requirements.
Deadlines
The PhD program in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning is highly competitive. With 3-5 students admitted each year, priority is given to students who have their applications submitted no later than March 15.
Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis, with final decisions to be made after March 15.
