Abstract

NotebookLM is a grounded "thinking partner" that only uses data from the sources you provide, ensuring accuracy and trust for academic work. It is organized in a "3-panel" workflow: 1) Sources for gathering materials like PDFs or YouTube transcripts, 2) Chat for deep questioning with inline citations, and 3) the Studio for generating creative outputs. Faculty can synthesize and compare multiple journal articles, help onboard new faculty with an easily-accessible knowledge base, or create presentations for class. Students can transform raw research into personalized study guides, quizzes, and flashcards, or even use your course materials to make podcasts.
