Spend two weeks abroad studying, volunteering, and exploring along the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Students will work on various sustainability projects, immerse themselves in the vibrant culture, and explore the social and economic impacts of the outdoor industry and manufacturing. Thailand -- Global Health Practicum

This program is designed to support graduate students in public health (MPH) who are completing a required applied practice experience tailored for each student's specific needs. We will be partnering with the Chiang Mai International Rotary Club to identify appropriate field sites, and site preceptors who will oversee student internships related to child safety, health, and education.

Vietnam/Cambodia - Identity After War and Conflict

This course and study abroad experience will help you understand the broader global-political context of the conflict in Southeast Asia and the Cambodian genocide.  Through the vehicle of narratives – memoirs, fiction, and individual storytelling – this course aims to put a human face on the often abstract concept of war and violence.

Israel -- Landscape Architecture: Sustainable Systems and Planning

In this course you will spend nine days learning the value of conservation in Costa Rica from San Jose to Monte Verde to the Central Pacific Coast. Be immersed in the culture of this Central American country which boasts an epic landscape that is home to nearly 5 percent of the world’s biodiversity.

Peru -- Global Community Leadership

Engage in service abroad! Students will complete service projects in the Iquitos community in Peru. Learn about applied leadership principles and enhance knowledge of global health through visiting local hospitals, schools and communities. Additionally, students will spend some time in Machu Picchu.

England -- Origins of the U.S. Criminal Justice System

When the criminal justice system in the United States was formulated, it was largely influenced by the criminal justice system in England. To better understand why the criminal justice system in the United States is structured like it is, we will learn about the English system that influenced it and visit sites in England that composed that system. Embark on an educational and cultural trip of a lifetime to the UK, France, and Italy coordinated by EF College Tours, experienced leaders in the student travel field!  Visit sites and hear from experts in each country to learn about social welfare systems in Europe, while touring some of the world-famous cultural, historical, and religious sites of these countries. France -- French Language

This faculty-led program takes students to France for intensive language study and cultural immersion. Students will spend four weeks in the South of France, more specifically in Antibes, for a four-week program of study in the Centre International d'Antibes (CIA), where students will be instructed by local teachers of the academy.

Set in Lisbon, Portugal, this program offers students the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Portuguese language and culture. In addition to learning the language, experience cultural and social activities every week, including walking tours to Lisbon's center, museums and art galleries, cooking classes, music with Fado singers, and local beaches.

This is a 4-week program at the Fundación Universidad de La Rioja in Logroño, Spain for beginning to advanced Spanish speakers. Living in Spain for a month gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture, improving Spanish language skills and cultural understanding on-site. Denmark -- Exploring Agricultural Technology, Production and Education

Explore agricultural technology, production, and education in Denmark (and Germany)! Denmark is a world leader in precision agriculture technology and has a unique agricultural education system. Participants will travel across the European countryside learning from agricultural industry experts and farmers during this 10-day program.

Italy -- Art, Architecture and Film in Rome

Imagine spending three weeks in Rome learning about Ancient, Renaissance, and Baroque art and architecture and how it has inspired films made in and about Rome. Each day your classes will be held at different locations in Rome and nearby sites including Ostia and Tivoli, plus there's an overnight excursion to the Tuscan cities of Florence and Siena. This program explores local European customs and traditions over a memorable twelve days while learning about the history of the Olympics! Europe is home to the modern Olympic movement, having hosted 17 editions of the Summer Games and 13 editions of the Winter Games. In this study abroad opportunity, students will visit five countries (Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Germany), with learning opportunities in two winter host cities and one summer host city.

This unique USU faculty-led experiential learning program will spend 10 days in Crete, Greece, designed to provide an overview of the culture, nature and cuisine of Crete! This course will focus on traditional diet, culture, and lifestyle practices of the Mediterranean region through field trips, site visits, lectures, food demonstrations, tours and group discussions.
