Rwanda -- Genocide, Reconciliation and Peacebuilding

Explore and understand the lasting impact of genocide (psychologically, socially, economically and politically) on a country and its people. Learn about the continuing search for justice and peace. Travel to key national sites and meet with governmental, academic, and non-governmental organization (NGO) representatives to learn about the roots and nature of genocide, “ethnic” and national identity, the role of external actors, and Rwanda’s unique path toward justice, reconciliation and peace-building. Nepal --Product Design and Manufacturing

Spend two weeks abroad studying, volunteering, and exploring along the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Students will work on various sustainability projects, immerse themselves in the vibrant culture, and explore the social and economic impacts of the outdoor industry and manufacturing. Thailand -- Global Health Practicum
This program is designed to support graduate students in public health (MPH) who are completing a required applied practice experience tailored for each student's specific needs. We will be partnering with the Chiang Mai International Rotary Club to identify appropriate field sites, and site preceptors who will oversee student internships related to child safety, health, and education.

Vietnam/Cambodia - Identity After War and Conflict

This course and study abroad experience will help you understand the broader global-political context of the conflict in Southeast Asia and the Cambodian genocide. Through the vehicle of narratives – memoirs, fiction, and individual storytelling – this course aims to put a human face on the often abstract concept of war and violence.

Israel -- Landscape Architecture: Sustainable Systems and Planning
Discover the country of Israel, touring from the urban North to the desert South as you learn about landscape architecture and environmental planning. Israel, the birthplace monotheistic religion, with sacred significance for Moslems, Jews and Christians, blends the ancient with the modern in magical ways and today is a leader in high tech and environmental cooperation.

Costa Rica -- Environment and Culture

In this course you will spend nine days learning the value of conservation in Costa Rica from San Jose to Monte Verde to the Central Pacific Coast. Be immersed in the culture of this Central American country which boasts an epic landscape that is home to nearly 5 percent of the world’s biodiversity.

England -- Origins of the U.S. Criminal Justice System

France -- French Language

This faculty-led program takes students to France for intensive language study and cultural immersion. Students will spend four weeks in the South of France, more specifically in Antibes, for a four-week program of study in the Centre International d'Antibes (CIA), where students will be instructed by local teachers of the academy.

Academics/Credit: Earn 6 credits studying French at beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels. Students take a language placement test upon arrival for proper class selection.

Huntsman SEED
SEED offers an international internship experience that will distinguish you among your peers and give you the confidence to take what you learn in the classroom and apply it to real life. We are looking for students with an interest in social entrepreneurship to live abroad for a full school semester to teach, mentor and assist entrepreneurs in developing countries and help them break the poverty cycle.
