Death Benefit

In the event of the death of a benefit-eligible employee, USU pays one month's salary as a death benefit. This is in addition to any other life insurance the employee has and any payable vacation leave. This death benefit is a payment based on the deceased employee’s salary for a 30-day period from the date of the death.

Beneficiary Changes

Beneficiary designations are important and ensure that your USU Death Benefit goes directly to the person you determine. Updating your beneficiaries regularly offers peace of mind and ensures the correct beneficiaries will have access to the benefits intended for them. Beneficiary changes can be made anytime during the year. To make changes complete the Beneficiary Designation form.
