Who is Eligible for Long-Term Disability

All benefit-eligible employees qualify for long-term disability. USU pays the full premium each month.

Benefit Waiting Period

If you suffer a qualifying disability, your benefit waiting period is the length of time you must be continuously disabled before you can begin receiving your weekly benefit. The benefit waiting period for benefited employees is 120 days. When you are on short-term disability for 120 days this will help you meet the long-term disability waiting period without having a large gap in income.
