Telework Fee Structure

*As approved by Executive Committee and the President on March 23, 2022 and in accordance with USU Policy 3008: Telework

  • To Support In-State Teleworkers - In-state telework may be approved by leadership and will incur no additional costs or monthly billing
  • To Support Existing Out-of-State Teleworkers - While preference is for in-state work, departments who have out-of-state teleworkers who began work out of state prior to April 1, 2022, will be billed $100 per month ($1,200 per position per year)
  • To Support New Out-of-State Teleworker Requests - While preference is for in-state work, departments who have out-of-state teleworkers who begin work out of state on or after April 1, 2022, will be billed $200 per month ($2,400 per position per year)
  • To Support State-Specific Research/Work - Departments who can document/substantiate that the work an out-of-state teleworker is performing MUST be done in that state by contract/grant, will be exempt from monthly billing. Exemption approval granted by Office of Research
