Biography

Janna Hawkins has worked for the University since 2005. She started as a part-time purchasing card auditor. She became a full-time staff auditor in 2006 and assistant director in 2016.

Although Ms. Hawkins has conducted audits in a wide range of areas, she focuses primarily on audits related to financial and tax matters. She also conducts fraud investigations.

Ms. Hawkins was previously a budget analyst for the U.S. Army at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Belgium. Prior to that, she was an accounting technician for the U.S. Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department at Joint Maritime Facility in the United Kingdom. She has also worked as office manager for a construction company in California.

She graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in law and society. She also attended the University of Hawaii where she completed numerous accounting and business law courses.

Ms. Hawkins is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of College and University Auditors.
