About Me

Hello, my name is Scout Jarman, I was born in California, but grew up in Alpine Utah. I am a Statistician who loves to program and has an appreciation for mathematical rigor. In my spare time I enjoy playing video games with friends or fixing motorcycles.

Research Focus/Study

A mixture of Design of Experiments and Machine Learning.

Why I Came to USU

After receiving a BS from USU in Mathematics/Statistics composite (CS minor) in 2021, I decided I wanted to pursue a PhD in Statistics with some motivation from my undergraduate mentor Dr. Brennan Bean. USU has an excellent faculty, campus, and financial support which made USU an easy choice to continue my post baccalaureate education.
