We know the transition to all-online coursework is not an easy—or welcome—transition for many of you. You’re in new locations and might not have access to computers like you did when you were on campus. You might feel additional stress about your writing assignments right now. We want to help in any way that we can. Please know that we will meet you digitally wherever you need us, whether through phone call, text, or email. It is our goal to serve you—and serve you where and when it works best for you.
Our tutors at the Science Writing Center are now trained to specifically help you in an online environment and can assist you at any stage of the writing process. After you make an appointment, we can help you best if you upload any materials that you want to discuss with a tutor at least 2 hours before the time of your appointment. Send us your questions, an outline, a rough draft, or your full paper, if you have one. If you have an assignment description, please send that along too.
If you have any struggles or frustrations, please reach out to us at email@example.com.

What to expect in a tutoring session
Our goal is to help students apply the writing skills they’re learning in core English classes to their work in the sciences. Like the Writing Center as a whole, our main focus will be larger issues like content and organization. We strive to:
- Increase the confidence of student writers
- Cultivate the skills students need to create effective scientific documents
PLEASE NOTE: To help the Science Writing Center give you the best possible advice, please email or attach a copy of the assignment description. All students are responsible for understanding their instructors’ expectations and the university’s academic honesty and integrity policies.
