Athena Dupont December 2019

Athena Dupont, Senior Coordinator of Programs Graduate & Undergraduate Research with the Office of Research, was nominated as Employee of the Month by Alexa Sand, Associate Vice President for Research. The Staff Employee Association is delighted to recognize Athena as the Employee of the Month for December 2019.

In her nomination letter, Dr. Sand sang Athena's praises on all levels:

"[Athena] has taken in hand, streamlined, made transparent, and institutionalized many of our key processes, including the solicitation, evaluation, and awarding of URCO grants, student travel awards, Undergraduate Research Fellowships, Presidential Doctoral Research Fellowships, and Research Office faculty and student recognitions." Stating that, "I regularly hear from faculty and students about how much easier and clearer these process have become under her tutelage."

She continued by saying, "[her] lifelong knowledge of USU’s faculty and research landscape makes her an invaluable resource."  Dr. Sands highlighted Athena's work in mentoring, collaboration, strategic planning, and contributing to the Office of Research mission and vision in every way.
