Corporate Volunteer Opportunity for Logan Businesses

This could be you and your teammates!
Attention, Logan-based businesses, especially ones located in southeast Logan:
Utah State University’s Center for Community Engagement invites your organization to participate in our Community Rakes & Shovels program. This initiative was created in response to requests from senior citizens and community members with disabilities who need seasonal leaf and snow removal assistance. Our volunteers provide essential support throughout the fall and winter months, helping local residents remain safe and independent in their homes.
With leaf-raking sessions now complete for the season, we are preparing for increased winter needs. While we serve residents throughout the valley, this year we have a particularly high concentration of requests in The Springs neighborhood in the Woodruff area—located very close to your place of business. The properties are small, making the service manageable for volunteer teams of any size. The need in this neighborhood is greater than ever, and your proximity makes your business an ideal partner.
We would be grateful to partner with your organization to assemble a volunteer team for the winter season.
Here’s how the program works:
-
Your business designates someone as a point of contact. This person recruits volunteer among your staff and employees that would like to join a shoveling team.
- We assign a resident to your team and share contact information with both parties.
-
When significant snowfall occurs, the resident will reach out to the point of contact to request help.
-
The point of contact coordinates with your shoveling team to determine availability and provide the assistance needed.
If your organization would be willing to assemble a team, please contact us as soon as you are able.
For questions or to sign up, email cosas@usu.edu or call Nelda at (435) 797-1740.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support members of our community. Your participation would make a meaningful difference during the winter months.
