Alternative Breaks

Since 1996, Aggies have been spending their fall and spring breaks serving in communities near and far. Become an active citizen by learning about current social issues, about what organizations throughout the country are doing to make a difference, and by getting your hands good and dirty.

All of our Alternative Breaks programming centers on full engagement, which includes being alcohol- and drug-free.

2023 Alternative Spring Break | Animal Welfare | March 5-10, 2023 | Kanab, UT
We'll be traveling to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT to volunteer to provide companionship and rehabilitation to animals who live at the sanctuary. Volunteers often clean animal areas, play with and walk the animals, prepare and serve pet food, make toys or treats, and help with facility upkeep.

Cost: TBD
Application: Coming soon!

Applicants who are accepted will commit to attending several weekly meetings in advance of the alternative break to learn about the topic of animal welfare and the root causes of the work that they will do. Dates TBD.
