Overview & Background
USU has decided not to renew our contract with Civitas for use of their Inspire (including Inspire for Advisors), Illume, and Impact products. These products will remain available through the end of our current contract (June 30, 2023).
Earlier this year, listening sessions were held with advisors and other power users of Inspire. From these sessions, it was found that INspire is primary used for:
- Student Insights - Viewing grades, Banner data, Canvas data, etc.
- Outreach - Sending personalized, mass communication to students
- Documentation - Documenting appointment and interactions with students
Achieve will provide most of this functionality, with additional student insights and outreach features to be added later this summer. Additionally, the Center for Student Analytics is currently working on predictive analytics models that we are hoping to integrate into Achieve in the future.
Things to Note
- Inspire will be available through June 30.
- If you've used Inspire to document sessions and communications sent to students, download and securely store your data before June 30.
- Achieve may be used to access student insights, including Canvas data. It also provides tools for outreach and documentation.

Learn How Achieve Can Help
Student Insights*
Access student Canvas data within Achieve. This includes:
- A student's current grades compared to the course median
- The number of assignments that have been turned in on-time, late, or that are missing
- A student's last activity in a Canvas course
Future updates will provide advisors with a sortable list of their students along with their Canvas data.
Outreach*
Send personalized emails through Achieve to a group of students by copy & pasting or uploading a list of A-numbers.
A future update will bring the ability for advisors to message a group of students based off certain criteria (e.g., assigned advisor, college/department/program, GPA, academic standing, etc.).
Documentation
Ensure you download them before June 30th.
Achieve provides the ability to document notes both during and outside of appointment sessions. Notes are recorded to the student's profile within Achieve and visible to the staff who created them and those who have access to the program under which they were created.
