Man arrested in traffic stop

A driver was arrested in Logan at 5:23 a.m. on Feb. 25 after being pulled over because his tail lights were out.

The driver, 21-year-old Scott Hinkley, was pulled over by Sgt. Brooks Davis who found there was a warrant out for Hinkley’s arrest from Santa Clara, Utah for a fine of $125.

“This guy’s got quite the history,” Capt. Tyson Budge said.

Officers cited Hinckley for equipment violations, which is called a fix-it-ticket. Once the violation is fixed the ticket will be dismissed.

“Just fix the problem,” attorney Andrew Lillywhite said. “If it’s past the deadline, explain why and maybe they will dismiss it, but nothing is guaranteed.”

If a person takes a ticket to court and the officer does not show up there is a possibility the ticket will be dismissed.

Hickey was arrested under a class B misdemeanor and his bail was set at $925.
