Utah Women Making History exhibit
Exhibition | Year of the Woman
The Hyrum City Museum will feature the traveling exhibit "Utah Women Making History" in celebration of the three significant women's rights anniversaries in the year 2020. This exhibit includes illustrations of Utah women (and a few men) who worked throughout the 20th century to advocate for women and advance their communities, including USU alumna Mignon Barker Richmond. These 50 illustrations were commissioned by Better Days 2020, a nonprofit dedicated to popularizing Utah women’s history and spearheading Utah’s statewide celebrations of these significant anniversaries.

Get Away Special General Team Meeting

The Get Away Special Team is an undergraduate, extracurricular, small satellite research team within the Utah State University Department of Physics. This meeting is where sub-teams collaborate to ensure the success of projects such as a NASA CSLI-selectee CubeSat GASPACS and other small satellite research. Nicole Tanner, Co-founder of Swig
With her husband’s marketing degree and her degree of Administrative Assistant (plus building her team as a Mary Kay consultant for many years), they dreamed of creating something from nothing and making it their own. One day while brainstorming ideas for a new business, her husband said, “What is something we have every day, multiple times a day?” Nicole responded, “That’s easy, we get a Sonic (Diet Coke). He responded, “What if we build a business with just drive-thru fountain drinks?” And that is how Swig came to be!

Atsitty is author of Rain Scald, recipient of the Truman Capote Fellowship, winner of the Corson-Browning Poetry Prize , Morning Star Creative Writing Award, and the Phillip Freund Prize.
