Utah State University’s College of Education and Human Services again is among the top graduate programs in the nation in the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings released March 31.

The graduate program in education tied for 35th in the nation with Temple University, University of Florida and University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Of particular note, the college ranks No. 3 in the nation in terms of funded research dollars generated. The college received $30.6 million in research grants in 2005, an amount surpassed in the nation only by Teacher’s College at Columbia University and UCLA.

“The rankings once again show that Utah State’s College of Education and Human Services is among the elite schools of education in the nation,” said Carol Strong, dean of the college. “In particular, the No. 3 ranking in funded research dollars emphasizes our strength as a research university and shows that our students – both undergraduate and graduate – have exceptional opportunities to work with and learn from the leading researchers in the nation.”
