Yvonne Kobe

Biography

I have been a prehealth advisor at USU for eleven years and have loved every minute of my time in this role. I get to work with dynamic and motivated students from all majors on campus as they prepare for application to health profession graduate programs, such as medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, optometry, podiatry, chiropractics, and orthotics/prosthetics. 

On the home front I have two wonderful daughters, both of whom are currently attending USU, and a bearded collie named Bernie. My free time is spent walking the dog, gardening, knitting, crocheting, as well as the never-ending upkeep that comes with owning a 120-year-old home sitting on a half-acre. Prior to beginning my career in advising, I spent a few years building a straw bale studio in my backyard; foundation, framing, and thousands of wheelbarrow-loads of earth plaster. While I feel a bit sheepish when I say it is not completely finished, I can tell you that it functions well and is a very comfortable living space.
