AggieFunded Project Roles

AggieFunded Project Team

Project teams on the AggieFunded platform require at minimum 8 total team members in leadership roles. The larger the monetary goal, the larger the project team should be. All members of the team are required to go over the the informational requirements and guidelines as well as meet with the AggieFunded staff before launch. The four main roles that make up each project team include:

Project Leader

Being the project leader is an important and rewarding role. As the project lead you are the point of contact between the AggieFunded staff and the project team. In this role you are responsible for overseeing project progress, submitting project requirements, and keeping morale up for the length of the campaign.

The tasks associated with your crowdfunding project, such as writing campaign updates, creating a campaign video, or sending donor thank you notes, can be delegated to other team members but it is the sole responsibility of the project lead to make sure these tasks are completed.

We recommend meeting with your project team at least once a week throughout the process. Your AggieFunded staff contact will also be in touch regularly to check on the progress and remind you of important due dates.

The Project Leader is required to identify at least 20 personal contacts who might be interested in contributing to the campaign for direct email or face to face donation requests.

Project Members

The project members are volunteers who are committed to fundraising on behalf of the project. Each project member is required to identify at least 20 personal contacts who might be interested in contributing to the campaign for direct email or face to face donation requests. Each member is required to send at least 5 emails to their contact list during the campaign. These emails include:

  1. Pre-launch announcement: Save-the-Date
  2. Launch announcement: Project appeal
  3. Early campaign update and request for support
  4. Mid-campaign update and request for support
  5. Final stretch update and request for support
  6. Campaign summary and donor thank yous

Members might also be called upon to support the project lead with other aspects of the campaign, such as writing campaign updates, appearing in a campaign video, or sending individual donor thank you notes.

Project Volunteers

Project Volunteers are additional project teammates on top of the leader and members. Volunteers can also ask via email or face to face, share social media posts, and help create an overall awareness of the crowdfunding project. Project Volunteers are vital in spreading the word through online communities to further generate participation and support.

Project Advisor

The Project Advisor is a USU faculty or staff member who is the liaison between the project team and the development officer in the college or unit relevant to each project. This person is responsible for providing information, overseeing the overall fundraising strategy, and long-term stewardship strategy.
