Master in Secondary Teaching - MST

Emma Eccles Jones College of Education & Human Services

About This Degree

The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) offers a Master in Secondary Teaching (MST) degree designed to help you become a teacher. Upon degree completion, USU will be able to recommend licensure within Utah.

What You Will Learn

The MST (Plan C) degree includes completion of 30 credits in an approved program of study. Additional credits of content and pedagogy coursework may be necessary to meet licensure or endorsement requirements of the Utah State Board of Education (USBE). Upon completion of the MST you will be well prepared to enter the Secondary classroom and make a difference in the lives of your students.

This program is specifically designed to help degree seekers and job changers to become licensed educators. The program leads to a recommendation for teaching licensure from USU. However, licensure is granted by the Utah State Board of Education.
