Bio
Dr. Bart Tarbet has more than 25 years’ experience in the field of vaccine development, including the vaccine industry and academia. Prior to his employment at Utah State University in 2008, he was employed for 12 years in Research and Development (R&D) at Intervet Inc. (now Merck Animal Health), a global leader in the discovery, development, and manufacture of veterinary vaccines. Part of that work involved development of animal models for virus infections, including studies leading to the licensure of four veterinary vaccines, among them both inactivated and attenuated influenza virus vaccines. As a member of the National Institutes of Health Collaborative Antiviral Testing Group, Tarbet's laboratory has a primary focus on the evaluation of experimental therapeutics and vaccines for respiratory virus infections including influenza virus, enterovirus D68, and SARS-CoV-2 virus infections.
