Bio

Eric Schulz came to USU from a career in marketing and brand management with some of the top consumer product companies in the world — Procter & Gamble, Disney, and Coca-Cola. He has extensive experience in sports marketing, having worked with NBC and World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002 to launch the XFL Football League. He has worked on the Olympics, in minor league baseball, and, for five years, heading the marketing of the Larry Miller Sports & Entertainment Group, overseeing marketing for the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, KJZZ-14 TV, and other Miller properties.

He is the author of three books: The Marketing Game, How The World's Best Companies Play to Win, (2001); The Smart Marketer’s Toolbox, (2012), and Marketing in the Digital Age, (2019). He has been teaching at the University level since 2002 and he has taught at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University before coming to the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. In 2017, Eric was honored as the Huntsman School Undergraduate Faculty Advisor of the Year, and in 2019 was named the Teacher of the Year in the Marketing & Strategy Department. He is the faculty advisor to the Huntsman Marketing Association (HMA) club.

Eric specializes in brand strategy, brand management, digital marketing, advertising, and sports management.
