Jeanette Norton is a soil microbiologist at Utah State University since 1993. My research focuses on understanding soil nitrogen and carbon cycling on different levels; from individual organisms to ecosystem services. Working towards understanding soil health and agricultural sustainability challenges me to find new ways to interact and collaborate to address the many challenges of global change. Understanding the roles and impacts of diverse soil organisms remains a challenge and an inspiration. Soils are alive!
