Bio
Dr. Michael Levin is a professor in the Clinical/Counseling Psychology PhD program in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University. He received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno and completed a predoctoral internship at the Brown University Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. Dr. Levin's research primarily focuses on on how Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) can be delivered through self-guided technologies (e.g., books, websites, apps) to help address the mental health needs of a wide range of different problem areas (e.g., college mental health, depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive related disorders, weight self-stigma, coping with chronic health conditions). This research has been supported by several grants from the National Institutes of Health and foundations. He has conducted over 30 clinical trials evaluating ACT and published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. This research led to the development of ACT Guide, a publicly available mental health program with over 3,000 users to-date. He co-directs the USU ACT Research lab with Dr. Michael Twohig, which includes 10 graduate students and focuses on ACT research, training, and clinical services.
