Funding Opportunities for Students
The Center for Intersectional Gender Studies offers fellowships, scholarships, and co-sponsorships for students to pursue interdisciplinary, intersectional gender research and teaching. We also support campus events, including visiting speakers, performances, lectures, and symposia, that align with our mission.
Intersections Graduate Fellowship
The Center aims to support a graduate student with teaching, research or community engagement interests in the field of intersectional gender studies. Funding up to $1,500 will be awarded to support a graduate fellow who will partner with the Center leadership on inclusive programming and outreach.
Intersections Student Scholarships
The Center has several scholarships to support students who are working toward their undergraduate and graduate degree and whose educational and professional goals align with the Center’s mission.
Intersections Student Travel Grants
To encourage intersectional & interdisciplinary research by students, we provide travel grants to undergraduate and graduate students who present at academic or professional conferences in the field of intersectional gender studies.
Please note: Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, we are temporarily unable to offer funds for student travel. Grant applications will be available as soon as USU approves university-related travel.
Intersections Event Co-Sponsorship Grants
To support the Center’s goal of increasing the visibility and impact of intersectional gender scholarship and creative activities, we seek proposals for co-sponsorship of campus-wide events and initiatives. The Center seeks to support a wide variety of events but is especially interested in programming that is intellectually enriching to undergraduate and graduate students and faculty across USU’s campuses. Given the uncertainty surrounding group gatherings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily unable to offer funds for in-person events, but we invite applications for the 2020-2021 academic year that engage USU students and faculty in a virtual setting.
