Clean The Darn Air

Clean The Darn Air is a grassroots campaign to put a clean-air-and-climate measure on the 2024 ballot in Utah and win by appealing to voters from across the political spectrum. CTDA's clean-air-and-climate proposal is to put $100 million a year into local clean air programs, $50 million a year into rural economic development, eliminate the state sales tax on grocery store food, and pay for it all with a modest carbon tax on the fossil fuels that contribute to local air pollution and global climate change: "Tax pollution instead of potatoes and use the money that’s left over to Clean The Darn Air."

In 2021 and 2022, Clean The Darn Air has been laying the groundwork for the campaign by exploring policy options, expanding networks of supporters, and finalizing campaign plans. In 2023, CTDA will be filing the measure and then gathering 150,000 signatures through Nov 2023 to qualify for the ballot. In 2024, the campaigning begins to win on election day!
