Emily Alvey-Despain

Biography

Emily Alvey-Despain (she/her) is so excited to be back for her second season with the Lyric! She has also just completed her second year at Utah State University where she recently played Dr. Van Helsing in Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really, Lydia in The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberly, and understudied Mistress Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor as well as assisting as dance captain. Last season Emily had the wonderful opportunity of playing Edna in Bright Star, as well as understudying for Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest, and understudying for Judy & SylviaI in Home, I’m Darling. She also loves to dance in her free time and when she isn’t rehearsing you can find her working at an espresso bar! Emily is truly so grateful to be back with this company again and looks forward to all this season will bring.
