Performance Policies

Attendance

Children under six years of age, and babies in arms will not be admitted to Lyric Rep productions. Some shows have a higher minimum age requirement due to length of show or content. Check individual show information to help you determine what is age appropriate your children.

During Performance

Please silence your cell phones, and remember that texting, photography, and/or recording of any kind during any performance is strictly prohibited.

Only water in a sealable container is allowed in theatres. All other food and drink must be consumed in the lobby area.

Late Seating

Lyric Rep makes every effort to start our shows on time.  Patrons should plan enough time for travel and parking to arrive prior to start time. Latecomers arriving after the pre-show announcement will be seated by the House Manager in the back of the theatre at an appropriate break in the performance. Patrons may move to their ticketed seat during intermission. If there is no intermission, patrons must remain in the seats offered by the House Manager.  Latecomers without a ticket who arrive after Box Office personnel have left will be asked to obtain a ticket for a different performance.

Black Box Theatre seating is general admission. Due to the limited number of seats available and the proximity to the actors onstage, late seating location and timing will be determined by the House Manager (patrons may not be able to sit with others in their group). Latecomers may not be able to be accommodated if accessible seats are not available.

Sold Out Performances

Performances in the Black Box theatre are likely to sell out quickly because of the limited number of seats available.  Latecomers may not be able to be accommodated.  If a show is sold-out, we will create a small standby line for each sold-out performance. The Box Office Manager and Lyric Rep Admin determine the number of standbys allowed. We will hold the house for 5 minutes for late arriving ticket holders. At that time, any seats that have not been claimed will be filled by those waiting in the standby line. If you are unable to see the show because you have arrived after the standby seats have been filled, the box office will work with you to either exchange your ticket for another performance of the same show (if there are shows and/or space remaining), exchange your ticket for a different show, or refund your ticket.  Any exchanges or refunds must be done at the venue, or by the next business day if box office personnel have left before you arrive.  [Note:  While this policy primarily applies to the Black Box Theatre, the same policy will be applied to any venue with sold out performances.]
