Leila Hernandez

Biography

Leila is a self-described Pop Culture Analyst and Enthusiast. Her wildest dreams include hosting Saturday Night Live, attending the White House Correspondents Dinner, being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, and generally being best friends with Harry and Meghan.

She was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, but moved to McAllen, Texas when she was 8 years old. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from DePauw University and a Master of Arts in International Media from American University. From 2003 to 2008, she lived in Austin, Texas and worked in film, television, radio, and hospitality. She co-created and co-hosted a public access TV show called The Austin Movie Show. From 2010 to 2012, she lived in London, England and worked in the rail industry.

She now lives just outside of Washington, DC with her partner (Eric) and her daughter (Alice) and works for the Career Center at American University. Writing, workshopping, and performing her one-woman show at the Lyric Rep is an absolute dream-come-true for Leila.
