Mac McDermott

Biography

Mac McDermott is a fabricator with decades of experience as a prop maker, scale modeler, sculptor and woodworker. As a teacher, he collaborated extensively with elementary, middle, and high school students, guiding them through prop, costume, and set fabrication. He has a deep appreciation for detail, historical research and visual storytelling. Over the years, Mac has created imaginative, functional, robust and period-accurate props that blend artistry and practical problem-solving for plays, musicals and music videos. He is currently a graduate student specializing in scenic design at Utah State University’s Theatre Arts Department MFA program.
