This year marks a historic milestone for Utah State University with the launch of the state's first and only four-year College of Veterinary Medicine. The college creates new opportunities for students to earn their veterinary degrees without leaving Utah. It’s designed to prepare practice-ready veterinarians through a combination of rigorous classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, and partnerships with veterinary practices across Utah and the Intermountain West.
The new college will have a lasting impact on Utah by helping address the growing demand for veterinarians, particularly in rural and agricultural communities where access to veterinary care is critical. Beyond educating future veterinarians, the college supports animal health, public health, biomedical research, and outreach that benefits livestock producers, pet owners, and communities throughout the state. As Utah's only veterinary college, it represents a major investment in the future of animal agriculture, food security, and the health of both animals and people.
