Parent and Family Resources

As a supporter of a USU student, you play a vital role in their college journey. As they navigate new experiences, achievements, and challenges, your guidance will be invaluable.

Your Role as a Supporter of a USU Student

One of the most challenging aspects of supporting a college student is finding the right balance between offering help and encouraging them to advocate for themselves.

Under FERPA regulations, Utah State University cannot release certain student records to a third party without the student’s explicit consent. If you need to conduct business on your student’s behalf, it is essential to become a designated delegate.

However, even if you are a delegate on their account, we encourage you to take a step back and let your student to take the lead in their education.
