Access Gates to Be Eliminated on Logan Campus
The Logan campus will soon eliminate gates from parking terraces and surface lots. The Big Blue Terrace and Aggie Terrace – will join the Gateway Parking Terrace and Sorensen Center underground garage in operating without access gates. Work to remove gates is expected to be completed by July 26th. This transition aims to expedite access and egress, enhance pedestrian safety, and reduce infrastructure costs and maintenance. For employees and students with parking permits in these areas, your parking rights remain unchanged. Please ensure your current permit is linked to your vehicle's license plate number. Instructions are available in the Linking Vehicles to Parking Permits section on the parking website.
Visitor Parking
Visitors can continue to park in these locations and pay using our mobile payment system. Signs with instructions for the mobile payment system will be posted throughout the terraces. These are mixed-use lots for both employees and visitors. During peak demand times we may employ "Lot Full" signs and staff to regulate access.
Vehicle Counting System
This fall, we will install vehicle counting systems in Big Blue and Aggie Terraces. These systems will display stall availability at terrace entrances and on our website.
Guest Parking Validation
Departments inviting guests may purchase validations for individual department guests through our Validation Request form. These can be used at kiosks near the Aggie Terrace elevators or at the southeast corner of the Big Blue Terrace.
Please contact USU Event Services if you need to park more than ten guest vehicles in these areas.
Departments that have validations for the current gate system may exchange their barcode validations for new code validations. Please email parking@usu.edu with the quantities and durations of any barcode validations you need to exchange. Once we have replacement validations available, we will contact you to arrange for an exchange.
We are in the process of expanding our validation system to allow more flexibility and make it easier for departments and event hosts to provide parking for their guests. Look for more information on this in the coming weeks.
Enforcement
Enforcement teams will monitor parking and capacity in the terraces throughout the day. They will monitor access and ensure parkers have the right to park in these locations.
This is a big change for our campus, and we are excited to make parking access easier. Please email parking@usu.edu if you have any questions or need additional information.
