5306.1 PURPOSE
To establish policy and guidelines when providing facilities, goods, and services that might be in competition with the private sector.
5306.2 POLICY
The University follows policy and guidelines set forth by the Utah System of Higher Education in Policy R555, Providing Facilities, Goods and Services in Competition with Private Enterprise.
2.1 Grievance
In the event that a good or service provided by the University is perceived to be in competition with a privately owned business, that business may contact the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services to request the opportunity for a hearing of such a complaint.
If resolution is not reached as a result of the hearing, an appeal may be made to the Board of Trustees.
5306.3 RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services
Meet with the private sector to hear and evaluate complaints and facilitate a resolution.
3.2 Board of Trustees
Evaluate and respond to unresolved complaints that are received by the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services.
