Resident Assistant Positions

The Residence Life Program has opened our application for the Resident Assistant (RA) position for the 2024-2025 Year. Applicants who complete the application process before November 15, 2023 will also be considered for any position that opens between now and January 5, 2023. All other applications must be completed by the end of day on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Interviews will be after applications close.

USU Residence Life does require Resident Assistants to live in the communities they supervise. If applying, you must be able to move into on-campus housing during the time you are hired as a Resident Assistant. We will not be able to help applicants cancel any off-campus housing contracts if they are offered a position.

    • Go to the USU Career Design Center and follow the instructions for logging in to/signing up for Aggie Handshake
      • After logging in you can search for the Resident Assistant Position at Utah State University

Minimum Requirements for Resident Assistants

  • Full-time USU Student Status
    • All RA candidates and current RAs must be full-time USU students
      • Family Housing RAs must have at least one spouse as a full time student.
    • Full-time status is defined as 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester or 6 graduate credit hours per semester
  • Maintain 2.5 GPA
    • All RA candidates and current RAs are required to maintain a semester and cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5. After one semester of failure to meet academic performance standards, RAs will be placed on job probation. Two consecutive semesters of a GPA below 2.5 will affect continued employability or rehire status.
  • Family Housing RA Applicants must:
    • Qualify to live in family housing on campus
      • Be Legally married to their partner
      • Or, Have Children
      • Or, be legally married to their partner and have children
    • If married, both spouses in a marriage apply and be employed together
    • At least one of the spouses must be a full time student, but not both.

All Residence Life Employees are Responsible Reporter Employees and are expected to report on Title IX, Clery Act, and Discrimination incidents they become aware of.
