    Born and raised in Cache Valley, Matthew Hammond earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in French. He then completed medical school at George Washington University Medical School in Washington, D.C. and a residency program in ophthalmology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C. Post residency, Hammond was chief of ophthalmology at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Leesville, La. Upon completion of that assignment, Hammond was promoted to chief of ophthalmology, and director of Warfighter refractive surgery at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany. He returns to Cache Valley with a wealth of experience, treating patients of all ages, and having performed thousands of procedures.
