2024 Concerto Competition Winners to Perform With Utah State University Symphony Orchestra

By Samantha Isaacson |

LOGAN, Utah — The Caine College of the Arts will be hosting Concerto Night 2025, one of the most anticipated concerts of the year. The winners of the 2024 Concerto Competition will be performing with the Utah State University Symphony Orchestra, offering audiences a memorable musical experience. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Daines Concert Hall.

“This event is the only opportunity in the academic year for the talented students who win the Concerto Competition to showcase their talents,” said USU Symphony Orchestra Conductor Daniel Alfred Wachs.

Each of the six winners will perform the concerto movement they won the competition with.

“Since the winners determine which works will be programmed, Concerto Night 2025 is among the most eclectic programs of the season,” Wachs said. “This year features movements composed in the 19th century to a big band jazz-inspired piano concerto composed in 1982.”

Attendees will hear some of Utah State University’s top musicians.

“You're seeing tomorrow’s stars,” Wachs said. “Having six winners in the annual Concerto Competition is highly unusual. The level of skill was so high this past year that the jury panel had a tough time making a decision.”

Tickets are available online or at the CCA Box Office located in the Chase Fine Arts Center. For more information, visit the online calendar.
