GAME DAY HEADLINES

Utah State is in its 104th season of basketball this year and has an overall record of 1,393-990 (.585). USU hasn't had a losing season since the 1992-93 campaign, a span of 15 years, when that team finished with a 10-17 record.

With a win at Idaho Thursday night, Utah State will claim a share of its second-straight WAC regular season championship.

Utah State is ranked 17th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll with 258 votes and 21st in the latest Associated Press poll with 317 votes. It is the first time USU has been ranked since the 2003-04 season when the Aggies spent six straight weeks in the top 25. Last week, USU was ranked 22nd in the coaches poll and 25th in the AP poll.

Utah State's 23-1 start to the 2008-09 season is the best start to a year in school history. USU is also tied with Oklahoma (23-1) for the most wins and best record in the nation.

Utah State is the only team in the nation to win at least 23 games in each of the last 10 years. Gonzaga and Kansas entered this year with nine straight 23-win seasons.

Utah State's 18-game winning streak is the longest in the nation this year and the second-longest in school history behind the 1999-2000 team that won 19 straight games.

Utah State has now recorded 10 straight 20-win seasons, extending its current school record. Overall, it is the 25th time in school history that USU has won 20 or more games and its 23 wins this year are tied for the ninth-most in school history.
