Aggie Soccer's Lindsey Smart Earns Soccer Buzz Honor
Junior defender Lindsey Smart has added another accolade to her mantel when she was named to the Soccer Buzz all-West Region list. Smart's third team honor is the first time that a Utah State soccer player has earned an honor from Soccer Buzz.
The junior was the only Western Athletic Conference soccer player to earn an honor from Soccer Buzz.
Smart was also one seven players named to the all-WAC team this season when she was tabbed to the first team for the second-straight season. With that honor, Smart was the first USU soccer player to earn all-conference honors three-straight seasons since Charity Weston (2004-2006), and the first to do it all in the WAC.
The junior started all 22 matches this season, scoring two goals. Along with being part of the stingy Aggie defense, Smart had six assists.
Smart has also had success in the classroom this season. She was named to the NSCAA Scholar all-West region second team. In the classroom, Smart earned a 3.88 grade point average in exercise science.
