FRIDAY'S STORYLINES — Things to watch for in Friday's battle between the Aggies and Broncos:
- ESPN2's broadcast is the first-ever visit to Logan by the network for a football game. It is the first time that USU has been on national television since the 1997 Humanitarian Bowl game in Boise, Idaho, which was also televised on ESPN2.
- With a No. 6 ranking, Boise State is the highest ranked opponent to visit Romney Stadium since No. 6 Oregon came to face the Aggies on Sept. 29, 2001.
- That was the only other time that USU has faced a 6th-ranked opponent.
- The Broncos have been nationally ranked in each of the last three meetings with the Aggies, ranked No. 9 last year, No. 19 in 2007 and No. 13 in 2006.
- USU is 6-1 all-time on Nov. 20, winning its last three in a row on the date.
- Last Saturday's win [Nov. 14, 2009] guaranteed Utah State its first winning home record since 2003 when USU was 3-2.
- BRRR-ing your long johns, the Nov. 20 forecast is calling for rain and snow showers with a low temperature of 23 degrees.
- Friday features a pair of quarterbacks who take care of the ball, as USU junior QB Diondre Borel and BSU sophomore signal-caller Kellen Moore each have only thrown three interceptions, the fewest in the WAC. Borel had the third-longest streak in the country with 228 pass attempts without an interception, which was halted at Hawai'i, while Moore owns the 12th-longest streak with 135 attempts.
- Moore leads not only the WAC, but the NCAA in pass efficiency at 172. 5, while Borel is fifth in the WAC and 48th in the NCAA at 133.3.
