Business Consultant Speaks at College of Business Dean's Convocation

The founder of a firm that specializes in helping companies improve organizational and personal performance is the Dean’s Convocation speaker at the College of Business Wednesday, April 18, at Utah State University.

Curt Howes, the founder and president of Organization Performance Strategies, is scheduled to speak in the Orson A. Christensen Auditorium (room 215), of the George S. Eccles Business Building at 2:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
 
Howes will speak on, “Leadership: Delivering High Performance and Tangible Results Through Intangible Assets.” He’ll talk with students about the major impact that intangible assets have on a company even though they are not the type of assets typically measured on the balance sheet. He will use examples from his consulting experience to talk with students and answer questions about some of the things he has learned.
 
Before he established Organization Performance Strategies, Howes was an associate partner at Accenture, one of the world’s largest management consulting firms. Before Accenture he worked for Exxon for 18 years as a manager and internal consultant.
 
As a consultant Howes has worked with a variety of companies located in Europe, Russia, Asia, South America, Middle East and the United States.
 
Howes, who graduated in business management and communication from Brigham Young University and got his master’s degree in organizational communication at BYU, said he has ties to Utah State University. Dean Douglas D. Anderson invited Howes to speak at the convocation.
 
“I started out as a student at Utah State and I have a daughter who graduated from there a couple of years ago,” he said. “I have warm feelings for Utah State and thought it would be fun to come back.”
