Celebrating One Year of The Memo: Connecting Aggie Employees

USU's official faculty and staff communication reaches one year of success, streamlining internal communication, transparency and community awareness.

Editor's note: This message to employees is from The Memo Team in USU's Human Resources office.

The Memo Team is pleased to share a milestone across the Aggie community. August marked the one-year anniversary of The Memo, Utah State University's official internal communication channel for faculty and staff information. In just one year, it has served over 12,000 employees monthly with pertinent information in one defined place, transforming how Aggies connect and communicate.

The Memo has streamlined internal communication to eliminate clutter, ensuring that key information stands out, creating a clearer, more direct line of communication between university leadership, faculty, staff, and departments across the institution.

The Memo serves as USU’s one-stop monthly email resource, organized into three essential categories:

  • Action Requested: Critical items that request your action or attention.
  • Need to Know: Essential information that affects your work and our university community.
  • Nice to Know: Updates, celebrations, and community news that keep us connected as Aggies.

This streamlined approach empowers employees to quickly review important information and stay fully informed without a significant impact on busy schedules.

As we enter The Memo's second year, all Aggies are encouraged to stay engaged. Continue opening and reading The Memo each month, share announcements and updates that matter to the Aggie employee community, and help spread the word so all colleagues can benefit from this valuable resource.

The success of The Memo reflects USU’s commitment to open and effective communication. Thank you to everyone who reads, contributes to, and supports this initiative. Together, we're building a more connected and informed Utah State University.

For more information on The Memo, or to submit an announcement for review and approval, please visit hr.usu.edu/memo. The deadline to submit an announcement is the 15th of the previous month. Employees will continue to receive this important communication on the first workday of each month.

Sincerely,

The Memo Team
